In case you haven’t noticed, day-to-day life is a bit topsy-turvy right now!
First, we are in an eclipse period (May 26-June 10) when everything feels exacerbated – our reactions tend to be way out of proportion to the events. Our responses to wonderful things can be a bit too hyper and our reactions to crises can be slightly melodramatic. Time to breathe! Do what you can, or must, in the moment, bearing in mind that the intensity of the choice might fade by the end of June.
EXAMPLE: We are having the season of the 17-year cicadas, here in Indiana. Some days, I feel that if I have one more day of incessant humming while struggling to keep my dog from wolfing down cicadas, I will run screaming into the night. Really? It’s just cicadas. Even when they get in my hair, they don’t bite or sting or do anything but fly around, make a lot of noise, and tempt my dog. But, tell that to my overactive emotional state!
To add to the eclipse energy, we are also experiencing Mercury Retrograde (May 29 – June 22). As you might remember, Mercury Retrograde signals a time of mixed messages, botched communications, and technical break-downs. Anything with moving or electronic parts might just decide to quit. Links might not work. Virtual meetings that have been perfectly fine for months might suddenly develop hiccups. It’s a good time to clean files, but don’t delete or throw stuff completely away until later, in case you change your mind. Ditto with editing things. Keep all versions and back everything up! Double-check details on all dates, meetings, and locations. And, rather than being irritated, presume goodwill on the part of that other seemingly flakey person. Just remember that Mercury is Retrograde for them, too. On the other hand, the good news is that if you lose something during Mercury Retrograde, you are most likely to get it back.
Just after Mercury goes direct, on June 22, I’ll be doing my quarterly astro-update. This is right when Mercury is changing direction so it probably wasn’t a great date/time to choose! However, for multiple reasons, it was my best option. So, sign on a few minutes early and listen to some lovely music by my friend Leslie Judd, while making sure your technology is working before we begin.
